The review covers supporting and covering substrates, falls, waterproofing and thermal insulation, vapour control, ventilation, rainwater drainage, mechanical fixing, material compatibility, and critical details at roof windows, chimneys, valleys, ridges, eaves, parapets, movement joints and roof-to-façade interfaces. On new buildings we address system selection and detailing; on existing buildings we combine opening-up surveys, material analysis, defect and root-cause diagnosis, repair strategy and installation quality control.
