Good design must be verified on site.

On behalf of the client, we inspect work against approved details and technical requirements before critical stages are concealed. On selected projects, we may also undertake installation responsibility under approved details and documented site controls.

The critical inspection point

Why inspect work before it is concealed?

Defects in seams, clips, membranes, insulation and junctions become hidden once the covering is complete. Inspection takes place while correction is still possible. Findings are recorded with their location, photographs and technical reasons; work proceeds only after remedial action and close-out inspection.

We carry out inspection through eight verifiable stages.

Pre-installation review, supporting construction, build-up and materials, critical details, installation sequence, photographic records, non-conformance reporting and completion checks are planned to suit the project scope.

Approved Details

Critical junctions are resolved before installation begins.

Acceptance criterion

Ridge, valley, chimney, rooflight, parapet and eaves solutions that must not be improvised by installers are drawn and agreed by the parties before work begins. The method for resolving dimensional and angular variations is established before fabrication.

Correct Materials

Products and ancillary components suited to the project conditions are used.

Acceptance criterion

Clips, fixings, separation layers, ventilation components, weathering products and substrate materials are as much part of the system as the outer covering. If a component is proposed for substitution with a less expensive product, its technical suitability is assessed in writing.

Controlled Site Delivery

Installation stages are managed through records and a quality-control system.

Acceptance criterion

The substrate, membranes, clips, trays, seams and junctions are inspected before they are concealed. Work does not begin if the team, site conditions or programme are unsuitable; completed work is monitored through photographic records and checklists.

How is quality verified in standing seam metal roofing?

Standing seam roof performance depends on verifying the evenness of the substrate, correct separation layer, clip layout, tray length, direction of thermal movement and mechanical joints as one system. The purpose of inspection is not simply to find defects, but to confirm the correct solution before critical work is concealed.

Critical junctions are inspected before concealment

Eaves, ridges, valleys, chimneys, rooflights and parapet junctions are inspected before they are concealed; surface patching is not accepted as a permanent solution.

Installation records and handover criteria

Certificates, ancillary-product information, site photographs and inspection records are compiled in the project file; handover is assessed against the approved details and quality criteria.

CRITICAL DETAILS AND SITE INSPECTION

Junction details verified on site.

Critical façade junctions and details are checked at close range and under actual installation conditions, not from a distance. Where required, details approved by mock-up are inspected again during site installation.
